About The Quilt

4x4 Barn Quilt – West Trail

Note: Residence, view from Red Osier Landmark Restaurant

This barn quilt was a Father’s Day present to Brandon Voght. Brandon’s children named the quilt “Country Triangles”. It was painted by Mandy Humphrey of LeRoy and hangs on the gambrel-roofed barn which is believe to date from the late 1800s. The original pioneer farm was part of the Craigie Tract and was located along the State Road which led to Niagara Falls and Buffalo.  The farm passed through several owners. In 1952 the property was acquired by the ELM Dairy, which is now the Red Osier Restaurant next door. Today, the Voght family lives in the historic Greek Revival house which is included in the “Architectural Heritage of Genesee County, N.Y.“
